Pineto

Pineto in Abruzzo, on the Teramo coast, is one of the most renowned resorts on the Adriatic coast: so beautiful that it has been called the 'pearl of Abruzzo', since 2006 it has been awarded the European Blue Flag as a seal of water quality and the high level of services offered.

It was created in the 1930s and recently reopened to the public after long and careful work that has returned a true botanical garden to the community, where the main species of Mediterranean flora and fauna can be found, inviting visitors to stroll in the midst of nature. The environmental quality that Pineto can boast is also underlined by the Protected Marine Area of the Torre del Cerrano, which extends three nautical miles from the coast.

It takes its name from the tower that dates back to the 16th century and is now home to the Marine Biology Laboratory, which is very active especially in terms of education.
