Opi
Since 2010, Opi has been part of the circuit of Italy's Most Beautiful Villages. It has, in fact, all those characteristics linked to the long history of these places: the narrow streets, the old houses, the archaeological finds, the churches of considerable artistic-religious importance and the paintings of the period. Thanks to all this, we can easily dive into the past, reliving habits and ways of life typical of the early 1900s.
To these atmospheres so distant from us and strong in contrast to the frenetic rhythms in which we are used to living, we can add the pleasure of the beauty of these places in a natural environment that has few equals. In fact, it is located at an altitude of 1250 metres, in the heart of the National Park, overlooking a wide valley bordering Pescasseroli, nestled between the Apennine mountains.
This boosts summer tourism as well as winter tourism, attracting all those who love walking and hiking in the lush greenery of the park in summer or winter sports, but also those who want to admire the multicoloured blossoms in spring or the infinite colours and scents of the woods in autumn Among the many places in the vicinity that deserve to be mentioned for their beauty areThe Macchiarvana plateau, a favourite destination for cross-country skiers the Fondillo Valley, rich in water springs and natural rarities and where there are the Fondillo Caves, the Fairies' Cave and the Bear Pass.
To fully enjoy such beauty, there is nothing better than staying in campsites and villages where contact with nature is more immediate.
